DC Central Kitchen
Over 6,000 volunteers give their time to prepare over 4,000 meals per year. Volunteers assist with food preparation, chopping vegetables, sorting produce, mixing salads, portioning meals, de-boning meat and sorting cans.

Single Volunteers of DC: Singles do community service projects including cleaning up rivers, preparing food for the homeless, and putting down mulch at the National Zoo. There are socials, as well. Most members are in their 30’s and 40’s. Some events are divided into under 35 and over 35.

Special Olympics
Special Olympics is a nonprofit organization that offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 30 Olympic-type summer and winter sports.
