This club has over 2000 members in the DC metro area. Activities include hiking, backpacking, biking, paddling and social get-togethers. Other organized activities include conservation activism, education and leadership opportunities. This chapter also has a Young Members Committee for people in their 20’s and 30’s.

Bike and Brunch
A mostly single Jewish bicycling group from late 20’s to late 50’s age range. (Concentrated in mid 30’s to mid 40’s.) Weekly rides on Sundays with lunch afterwards. Fall and Spring weekend trips to different areas within a 4 hour drive of DC. Monthly happy hours and an annual party in January. Several marriages have occurred from this group including my own!

Inner Tube Water Polo is played just like regular Water Polo except participants float in inner tubes instead of swimming. And can hold the ball with two hands. Teams consist of six people in the water and points are scored by throwing the ball past the other team’s goalie and into the goal.

Potomac Pedalers Touring Club
The Potomac Pedalers Touring Club is an educational, recreational and social organization for bicycling enthusiasts. It is one of the largest bicycle club in the United States and the largest in the DC metro area. They primarily provide a weekend ride schedule to accommodate the experience and ability of each member, whether novice or veteran. Rides range from 10 miles to 600 km and average speeds range from 8 to more than 20 miles per hour.
